Jesse Petherick

My Name is Jesse Petherick & I am the Director of The Shires Professional Decorating Ltd. I have a deep passion for decorating & design. This started way back into my childhood. Started from Art and seeing certain things in the home that was pleasing to the eye. As a teen I studied art learning colour theory as part of the foundations to this subject.
My parents owned a building company, so naturally I went and studied construction skills in college, Painting & Decorating to be exact as this was the only option at the time and I considered it to be more inline with my enjoyment of art. I then went on to work for the family building business. learning new trades and developing new skills. I then progressed and eventually went on to manage my own team of tradespeople. Project managing small jobs before I went on to larger projects. Another role in the family buisness was also to design and create drawings in line with the specifications of the job.
I eventually broke away from the family business and paved my own path and focused on my love of design, art but also home improvement. After covid I moved to Staffordshire and from I created my compnay Decoforce Painting & Decorating Ltd. As I grew so did my vision to achieve excellence, My business was going down an unexpected but welcoming direction and attracting clientele further afield.
I reviewed my plan, made some adjustments to match my current trejectory and renamed my company to The Shires Professional Decorating. Today I have a team of skilled decorators and highly trained designers who are ready to consult & create our clients vision. I am proud to deliever a full design & 'build' service. As we grow so does our passion and mission statement, I want (and have no doubt) The Shires to be a name known in our industry for delivering exeptional customer service, fine designs both in terms of graphic and interior. I have already been involved and worked with some of my indusry leaders to provide valuable feedback on new products. Innovating our industry.

My names Alex Watson, my most noticeable interest has been anything relating to cars which is something I probably picked up from my dad, because of this I trained as a motor vehicle mechanic at college. I started my employment with The shires because despite me having a level 1 nvq in painting and decorating I never perused it further but after seeing a job opportunity here and seeing the work carried out by Jesse and the team it opened my mind abit more towards this line of work especially with me being abit of a perfectionist and wanting everything I do to be of a high standard I decided to contact jesse. Jesse kindly gave me the opportunity and in the time I’ve worked with The Shires I’ve already learnt a great deal and also have seen how passionate and knowledgable Jesse is about his career and I can whole heartedly say it was one of the best decisions I’ve made for a long time and I look forward to not only explaining my knowledge and skills in this field but also look forward to growing with the company.

My previous managment experience of over 10 years in service delivery & distribution gives me the tranferable skills. From consultation bookings to project planning & logisitics. I support the smooth & efficient operation of the company. I am the one who supports Jesse in delivering our professional service. I love mountainerring, camping, reading and being a mum. The Highlands of Scotland is a place where I love to spend my R&R time. I love working for the Shires as it really is a company that values people & quality over quantity & demand.
